Beach Campout

Stella and her friends organized a beach campout for all of us. We invited everyone, Moxie has two girls on there boat one is Stella's age and one is my age, Breeze has one girl 12 years old, Elena is different three boys, no girls. There is one more boat named Exodus they didn't campout but there were there for the playing. When we arrived at the anchorage we saw that our friends were already on the beach setting up. We brought our hamocks and some rope, our friends had different kinds of hamocks some were store bought but others we made out of netting.
Everyones busy

After we were done unpacking and everything was set up we called to the parents for dinner. We sat around the camp and ate our dinner talking about stuff that happened in the day and what tomorrow was gonna be like. After dinner we all got into bed but I couldn’t go to sleep, after a long time thinking and thinking what could be keeping me up, then I recognized it ….. ROOSTERS they were caca-doodle-dooing over and over again. I called into the night “is anyone awake yes yes yes yes” came a chorus of voices from the darkness. Everyone was awake, we talked and talked until midnight.
But were still having fun

In my dream I was falling down down down then suddenly I woke up on the ground under my hammock I think my hammock needed some adjusting. My friends told me I had slept IN but not necessarily IN my hammock. We all laughed and despite the stones pressed to my cheek and the aching in body I felt happy.
Tons of fun

Hiking for School

We were running around the boat getting everything ready for the hike. I was getting my school stuff ready in my back pack.
I had already gone on this hike with my family, but this time I was going farther, and bringing some friends.
We rode our dingings to shore and hopped on land. We walked with our friends to the beginning of the trail. They also had there school supplies, and my friends dad was a chemist so he taught fizicks. First we hiked threw the ant crazy zone where the ants just coated the floor and climbed up you. The ants made you stamp and and get all angry, but finally we made it to the top. Where there was a big rock that had a nice breeze, so we rested there.

When we rested I had some coffee of my dads he brought a canteen of it. On the way down I found a good walking stick and sharpened the end into a point. The hike down was some what longer but better than the one up.
I was energized and there were tones of mangos so my stomach was full. We hike all the way down the other side of the mountain to the town. At the town there was a brown beach were we stopped for a little bit to play. But soon after we had to go do school so we packed up our bags and set off again. We hiked for 20 minutes to a big stone plat form. We sat down on the plat form almost immediately I started scratching my arms and legs then I said um guys can we move to do school theirs  lots a bugs here but my mom had thought ahead to this moment she held out a bottle of bug spray to me. I took it gratefully and sprayed it all over me. Unfortunately they had already bitten me and I was still scratching. So we decided to move on from that place.

We walked over to the sign were it said what there was to do in this place. Before we had experienced the bugs my dad had walked over here and depending on the sign had made an assignment for the kids. He explained that we had to write three questions about what were seeing. First we walked to a place called the tohua it was the old fashioned shop plaza it also had big stone plat forms were we guessed that the shops would be and maybe a few homes. We were told that these weren’t just shops they would also put on shows for the people of the town. At the end of the line of plat forms we saw an extra big one were we guessed the mayer would live.

After the tohua we went to the other sight to see the petroglyphs. A petroglyph is a carving of something that they would put into a rock. We walked for about five minutes then we reached the first one. It was a carving of a man who was doing something, but I couldn’t make out what it was. Then we moved on to the next one. I heard an intake of breath as someone realized that the rock in front of us was shaped as a turtle. We moved around it to see it better. There was also some petroglyphs on it. One was obviously of a mahimahi (a kind of fish.)  I started sketching the petroglyphs. One of my questions was how did they move those big rocks to form the shape of the tohua. We answered the question by doing our fizicks lesson on it.  After the fizicks we started back on our hike. On the way to the town we came across some puppys in somebody’s property they sooooooooo cute, we stopped for some time to pet them and fondle them. But we had to keep walking. At the town we ate a full lunch and played on the beach then it was time to hike back.

Tongan Feast

After we moved from the town harbor we pulled into another quieter anchorage by a small restaurant.  I cooked and did school most of the day while my sisters played with the Elena boys on the beach, in the evening we made a a reservation at the Tongan restaurant for dinner. It was only us and Elena at the little place and it was neat and the floor was sand.  We had a fun time chasing each other around in the long grass with the dogs, By the time the food was ready we were all tired out and really hungry.

We all sat at small polished wood tables with low wood benches and the food was placed on the center table.  We had a cool seafood chowder for appetizer and it was really good, there were all kinds of shrimps and clams and fish in the soup and we all went back for seconds.  Next we had we had a kind of mash, it was made out of the root-like Taro vegetables that grew almost wild in the area and tasted kind of like potato.  We also had a salad, a ceviche made from the local fish and chicken stuffed with local greens and spices.  We drank pineapple and coconut juice and had fresh fruit salad for desert.

It was delicious and we had a really great time.

Minecraft

Me and my friend Remi play minecraft a lot. We always play survival and were really good at it.
The first minecraft day is really hard but once you have a bed and a house it gets fun and easy.
First thing you should ever do is look for sheep and try to kill them to make wool for a bed. Once you have three pieces of wool you get wood. This way you can sleep when it gets to be night. If not then you should just dig a hole and wait till day. The next you should continue your work on a bed if you don’t have one. But if you do have a bed then you should work on a house. There is controls on the left had bottom corner. One arrow for forward and one for each side and one for the back.

We played it last night at our sleep over. Me my sister and Remi can all go on the same world and build houses together we can evan see each other on the screen. Usually people have under ground houses because there easier to make. That way you only have to break the blocks not collect them and then put them down. Sometimes we can even make really nice mansions but there still under ground. We find diamond and coal, and then you make things to decorate your house with. Its soooooo awesome.

Jades Birthday

We were in a small remote anchorage with a short beach and a path through the forest and we decided to celebrate Jades birthday.  We set up relay races and games such as capture the flag and tug-o-war.  In the morning, before the party my moon and I mixed up chocolate cupcake batter and set them to bake.  Unfortunately It was supposed to be cake batter and it overflowed the muffin tins and stuck to the bottom when we tried to get it out.  After that disaster we were really careful when we made just basic white cupcakes with chocolate chips in cupcake papers.

The disaster cupcakes were a double batch so we were left with an enormous amount of crumbled chocolate cake that we had no idea how to use.  As we fixed the problem and set up the party my mom ran into Moana Roa mom who told her that we could easily use our mess-up to make a perfect chocolate trifle.  We had never heard of trifle so she explained that it was made by layering chocolate cake then custard then canned fruit, more cake and custard and topped off with whipped cream.  Saving this idea for later, we went about setting things up for the party.

Despite the cupcake failure the party went very well, with everyone, even the parents, participating in the games.  When we got tired of running around we ate the second batch of cupcakes which had turned out surprisingly well, and rested until capture the flag.

The best part of the party was the game of capture the flag that we had with the dads.  All the kids and all the dads participated and we had such even teams that the game went on for hours with each team getting close to the others flag but then getting chased of.  Eventually, after almost 3 hours of playing my team won in a desperate rush for their flag, involving me, my dad, some invisible players and a mad rush from another. teammate.

Truth or Dare

We play with a boat named Moana Roa they have two boys and one girl, I got an app called Truth or Dare and Stella the boys and I went to there boat. The oldest boy is named Travis and the middle boy is named Beau (Bo.) You had to type in your names and the iPod would choose what the Truth or Dare was and who would have to do it.

some were that we had to give each other pen mustaches or honey facials. I had to take a shot of ketchup it was disgusting but we got a kick out of it. At the end we all had mustaches and crazy hairdos. We played most nights, they became our really good friends there really full of energy and really likeable.

Vava'u

Vava'u

After an 8 day sail we were glad to sight land, we pulled in and tied up to the jetty.  I started with all the school that I had to make up after 8 days of being “seasick” while my mom went shopping and exploring wifi options and my dad got us checked into Tonga.

After we were all settled we moved from the customs dock into the mooring field and grabbed a bouy.  We tried to finish school as quickly as possible, eager to be off the boat.  After lunch we were free to go and the Moana Roa kids came to pick us up to go into town.  We walked down the main street (also on of the only streets) and came across an Ice Cream parlor so I treated everybody to ice cream.  We walked back to the dock cafe and sat and talked until dinner time, we ate pizza with Moana Roa for dinner then played around by the dock for a while.

When we got tired and bored we loaded ourselves into the dinghy and went back to the boat to watch movies.
