Boring Boring

From Riatea  we moved to Bora Bora and took up a mooring there.  We got in in the afternoon so it wasn’t long before we went over to Caminante for game night.  The Moana Roa boys came over to play also and when the game was done we went crazy over the little dolls and play cars like little kids.  Too soon it was time to go and we went home where we watched How The Grinch Stole Christmas, for some reason.  The next day Moana Roa left and I was without kids my own age, and just because, we all got sick and it started raining (and it didn’t stop after 3 days).  There was nothing to do, no internet to get in touch with the real world and no friends to play with.  I got an infection in my foot from stubbing my foot on a piece of coral and we all had a cold.  Boats started leaving the anchorage and I couldn’t blame them, it truly was Boring in Boring Boring.

Most of the time I laid in bed and listened to music until I was sick of all my songs.  We all took Vitamin C’s until we were running out and we just laid around unless we got internet, which was not very often.  Once we went to this bar with a pool when it stopped raining for a little bit but the pool was freezing and I spent the rest of the time running back and forth trying to get warm and waiting for my mom to come and get us.  But once she got there it started raining and we were stuck there for at least another half an hour.  Ugh!

Luckily tomorrow we’re leaving! We are getting out of here!  We are leaving Boring Boring and never coming back! Hopefully!

Windsurfing

In Bonaire there's a place called Loc Bay.  It's a big bay full of clear shallow water.  On the beach there's a beach resort and a windsurfing place called Jibe city.  Our friends in Bonaire are expert windsurfers and the mom an instructor, so one day we all went and took a windsurfing lesson.

A windsurf is a foam board bearing a resemblance to a surfboard.  It has a small, stiff, sail with a metal oval encircling it.  

To start our instructor led us out a ways to avoid crashing into the lines that mark off the sea creature breeding ground.  To mount you climb up onto the board on your knees then stand.  The next step is to haul up the mast and hold onto it with your front hand.  From there you can easily grab hold of the boom with your back hand, and adjust your position to a bow-and-arrow-like pose.

And that's how you windsurf!

Kleine Bonaire

Kleine Bonaire is an abandoned island right off of Bonaire.  Bonaire is a Dutch island and kleine is Dutch for little.  The whole of Bonaire is a marine park so there's fantastic snorkeling all around Kleine Bonaire and other parts of Bonaire also.  So far I've been to Kleine Bonaire 2 times, one time we went with my grandparents for a snorkeling trip, then a couple days later we repeated the exact same trip with our Marlin friends. 

Both times I snorkeled there I saw tons and tons of fish, but the dominating breed was the Parrotfish.  After both snorkels we researched in our reef fish book and looked up the fish we saw.  A lot of times over 50% of the fish we saw were Parrotfish!

Later after a few days had passed after both snorkel trips, we found out that another fish we had been seeing a lot of, was also a Parrotfish! (even if it was the baby version of it) 

Bonaire

We're in Bonaire now and I'm so glad to see my friends, I haven't seen them in 6 years and now i'm seeing them everyday!

After Trinidad Bonaire is a welcome change.  The water in Trinidad was grossly poluted while in contrast Bonaires water is a brilliant blue.  Our friends here are involved in about a million different activities and we're getting pulled in also.

A few days ago we went to a horse-back-riding lesson.  Jades horse was the slowest and the instructor kept having to walk along side her horse and lead it.
